Bad Day?

Everyone has those days. Those days where you just want to hide in your bed and forget the world exists.

I have a lot of bad days, and I am trying to find the best way to deal with them. Because if something bad happens, it weighs on my mind and bothers me for weeks afterwords. When you go through periods of bad days, it can be tiring when your mind just replays what happened.

A suggestion was that a new day is a new opportunity. Forget what happened yesterday as you can’t change what happened. What you can do, is strive to make tomorrow better. That is sometimes all you can try and do, aim to be better

Holy Moley?!?

Trying to cut down on swearing. *nods* For no real reason, just felt like I should be acting a little bit more respectable. I’m not a child anymore, curse words shouldn’t be all that funny anymore.

Accept I find them hilarious and fart jokes hit my funny bone spot on. So I am never going to be as mature as I pretend I want to be. To be brutally honest, I don’t particularly want to to stop acting like a child. I mean, the few things I do, which are all about living as an adult (working, paying bills, actually dealing with things) are pretty over-rated. So I am quite content living in my bubble of perpentual adolescence.

But seeing as cursing is something that I do a lot, I figured ‘it’s just a few words’ so I decided to try and stop swearing. *shrugs* Can’t be that hard right? So far I have failed miserably, and am still cursing and everything. But part of me is thinking, why should I stop swearing. They are just words after all. It’s not the actual words that are offensive, it’s the thought processes people have connected to them.

And to be honest, right now, it seems like it would a lot easier to change the thought processes of the whole world, compared to not dropping the F-bomb.

Yeah. Fudge. It’s nice, you should go get some. 😉

Good or Bad

Going on from my train of thought yesterday. I starting thinking about what says something is either good or bad. We get told there are bad words, bad actions, bad clothes, bad music. But really what does any of that mean?

The thing is, it’s our heads that decide what is good or bad. Its our thought process, which turns something good or bad. A word is just a word, it can’t stab someone. The thoughts and ideas the word conjures up, is what decides whether it is good or bad. And the thoughts and ideas change, depending on where you come from.

For instance, if I mention the word ‘fag’, I mean it as cigarette, and usually means I am going for a smoke. But to Americans, it is a negative word aimed at gay people. So whilst in the UK, that word is harmless, in the US it is a terrible word. But the word isn’t the bad thing, its what people connect to it. It happens everywhere.

I feel that is something that is a part of how people work. Like I said yesterday, people like to feel more superior, and they do that by having answer for everything. So rather than saying, ‘that song isn’t to my taste’, people are more likely to say ‘that song is bad’. Its maybe people just not wording things right, but I feel it is more than that. Its like giving it a solid answer, if you say that something is bad. That’s it, end of discussion.

But, fair enough, if people are taught and brought up to think that way. But, it becomes an issue, when someone opposes their opinion. People forget that opinion is never right or wrong. People refuse to except differing opinions, and refuse to discuss them. We call our selves the most superior race, but if we can’t accept and discuss even simple opinions, its no wonder society is crumbling.

You want someone to listen and respect what you say and think, maybe you should do the same. Try it.
